We are looking for a pilot crew who will take STINT out for real and share how it goes.
Your real-world logs, screenshots and impressions help us make STINT even better.
Complete all three rounds and meet the participation conditions, and we will give you a STINT of your own. Full eligibility is set out in the Participation Agreement.
What you get
- A STINT to use free of charge during the program
- The latest firmware in every round
- Update emails: what changed and who reported it
- Every report is read and answered by a person
- Selected crew members are credited on the site and in the progress letters
What we ask of you
- At least 6 real outings over the period
- Hand in each round’s tasks: one log, one screenshot, three sentences of feedback
- Share at least 3 public posts and let STINT reshare them
- Send the unit back at the end
- If something goes wrong, note the steps and the screen
About one to three months, in up to three rounds
Check the basics work
Pairing, everyday distance, 0–100, GPS auto-lap and log download.
GPS sources and attitude features
Compare logs from the three GPS sources and try the attitude features, video overlay and real-world battery life.
Long sessions and awkward conditions
Sessions over two hours, rain, obstructed sky, time zones and imperial units, plus one setting you use regularly.
Four categories
| Category | Recommended kit | What you try |
|---|---|---|
| Track / timed sessions | A RaceBox Mini or Qstarz receiver (built-in GPS works if you have neither) | Automatic lap detection, lap-time accuracy, comparison with official timing |
| Daily + 0–100 + mountain roads | An external receiver, RaceBox Mini preferred (built-in GPS works if you have none) | 0–100 splits, distance totals, speed-camera alerts |
| Off-road / trails | A digital inclinometer is recommended | Off-road mode, attitude indicator and mounting calibration (requires attachment to the vehicle and a stationary reference) |
| Overseas | Not required | Imperial units, GNSS in other regions, time zones |
For track and 0–100, bringing a RaceBox Mini or Qstarz gets priority because it lets us cross-check against a second source. You can still apply without an external receiver — the built-in GPS (5 Hz) records just as well.
Current feature limits
- Cloud backup requires an app version with cloud connectivity. Online leaderboards are not currently available.
- The tilt video overlay is iPhone-only for now
- The Qstarz source measures about 5.6 Hz in practice, and gives no g-force data
- G-force from the built-in GPS is derived, not measured
If any of the following fits your plans, we would love you to join the pilot crew.
- You can get out and drive at least 6 times over the next three months
- For the track or acceleration categories, owning a RaceBox Mini or Qstarz counts in your favour (the built-in GPS works if you have neither); off-road needs no external GPS but does need a digital inclinometer
- You use an iPhone (the pilot crew is currently open to iPhone users only)
- You agree to return the watch at the end of the program; once you complete it, we send you a STINT of your own
- You are willing to post at least 3 public pieces and let STINT reshare them
